General Clinicians

Wendy Dolan
Registered Psychologist
Wendy is a Brisbane-based, outcomes-driven psychologist who blends behavioural science, financial acumen and genuine human warmth. After two decades guiding clients through the maze of mortgages, financial markets and money worries, she traded balance sheets for behavioural plans, to address well-being at its emotional core. Previous experience also involved working with hearing and speech impaired individuals, which taught Wendy the value of truly accessible communication and inclusive practice, which now informs her therapeutic work. Wendy’s IVF journey with its emotional “ups and downs”, also holds her in good stead to offer counselling in relation to the “journey to parenthood.”
Since gaining general registration, Wendy now delivers evidence-based therapy to NDIA-managed, plan-managed and self-managed clients with complex presentations, including intellectual disability, dual diagnoses and trauma histories. Her clinical toolkit blends Cognitive Behaviour, Schema and EMDR Therapy, enabling clients to reframe unhelpful beliefs and manage chronic anxiety, mood disorders and depression. Wendy also sees private clients, works within the Medicare framework and offers telehealth services.
Ask Wendy about therapy and she will quote her nightly ritual of recording five small joys from the day and focusing on “the magic in the little/simple things.” This disciplined appreciation encompassing gratitude and mindfulness underpins a clinical style that is solution-focused, strengths-based, and refreshingly down-to-earth. Clients are partners, not pathologies; progress is celebrated and set-backs are mined for learning.
Wendy holds a Bachelor of Psychology with Honours from the University of New England, various Financial Diplomas and the degree-equivalent Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation. She is also a Justice of the Peace (Queensland) and follows the APS Code of Ethics, Medicare regulations and NDIS Safeguards with a spotless record.
